FOCUS

Mr. Shook practices extensively before the Social Security Administration on claims for social security disability and supplemental security income. He also has appeared for both businesses and employees on claims for worker’s compensation and unemployment compensation.

In Licking County, Mr. Shook has appeared in all courts on a variety of matters. He has appeared in both the Municipal Court and Court of Common Pleas in defense of individuals accused of committing criminal and traffic offenses. He has represented clients in divorce, child custody and child support matters before the Domestic Relations Court. He also appeared before the Probate Court for estates and guardianships.

Mr. Shook has experience arguing appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Ohio, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court.

Mr. Shook is active with the Interfaith Legal Clinics in Licking County.  These are pro bono legal clinics that take place every third Wednesday of each month at a variety of churches around the county. He is also a member of the Ohio State and Licking County Bar Associations.

General Background

Mr. Shook has been a resident of Ohio since the age of 2, residing all across the state in cities such as Toledo, Columbus and Akron. He is a 1998 graduate of Licking Heights High School in Pataskala, Ohio and currently resides in Licking County with his wife, Lisa.
