Arbitration + Mediation
Not every case goes to trial. Many disputes can be decided quicker and more cost effectively by going through arbitration or mediation rather than going to trial. Arbitration is a dispute resolution process in which the parties present their case to a third person (called and arbitrator) or a panel of arbitrators. The decision reached by the arbitrator(s) can be binding or non-binding. Mediation is a process involving a third person leading negotiations between the parties in an attempt to resolve a dispute.
Our lawyers use the same skills of preparation, oral advocacy, witness examination and cross-examination, expert presentation, and persuasive briefing to an arbitration proceeding or mediation that we apply in court cases. In many cases, arbitration or mediation is the most effective way to resolve our clients’ interests. Our attorneys are always prepared to use the most cost effective methods to resolve cases when this approach best serves our clients.
